Conclusion Questions

My partner and I knew we wanted our film to be related to our faith, so we came up with a story of a girl being healed from deafness after abandoning God. She gets frustrated with God and leaves Him to go to witchcraft to take things into her own hands. Firstly, I did the motion graphic in Adobe Illustrator with the logo of our production company named TheDailyWorship. I formed the sun using the eclipse tool, then  used the rectangle tool to form the words daily. Once this was complete I then went to Adobe Photoshop to create our poster. I found photos that I liked to add into the project that I felt represented our film. Our project is named after Psalm 103 because it is one of the most comforting Psalms in the Bible. I also added a quote from the Bible from Jesus Christ onto the poster, the same quote appears throughout our film. Once the poster and the motion graphic was finished it was time to begin our beginning credits and our ending credits. I imported the motion graphic into Adobe After Effects, then added a slight glowing effect to the motion graphic. To do this I added two keyframes onto the composition then to the second keyframe I added the glow effect. The beginning credits starts off with a nice smooth introduction, introducing the name of the film and a quote from Jesus that appears in the latter half of the film. Each sentence in the beginning of the film is given opacity to have the effect of the fade in. To do that I added key frames and where I wanted the fade in to begin or the fade out to begin I then switched the opacity number to be either one or 100. Once I was happy with the way that I began the motion graphic and began the start of our film, it was time to begin filming. Filming took a while because we were both busy but once we filmed everything, I imported the shots we wanted to use into a composition. I aligned all the clips in order and played the film as it was. After replaying it, I shortened some clips and muted all of them save the last. We wanted our viewers to experience the same grief as our character, so during the film you cannot hear anything save the ending. First, We filmed at my friend's Evelyn's house where Evelyn is grieving her deafness and is trying to escape it with witchcraft. We then filmed the latter half at my house where she meets another character who begins to show her Bible verses that lead her back to Christ and in the relationship with God. The film ends with her being healed of her deafness. She gets flashbacks into her own house when she was begging Jesus to heal her, yet it never happened. In the final scene, the audience finally hears audio; signifying the character's healing. This was the most fun part of the project. I loved spending time with my partner and  being able to work in close quarters with someone who shares the same ideas and faith as me. I would love to do a project like this again in the future. I wanted a specific scene in the film to stand out, and so when it came to my character showing the other character Bible verses; I purposefully slowed the clips. This was to signify conviction of the character’s disobedience to the word of God. I wanted that particular scene to be disorienting not only to the audience but to that character who was receiving those Bible verses. Once I completed the editing of the film which did not take long, I completed it by doing the ending credits.

The easiest part was envisioning it, the hardest part was to accomplish it. There were many scenes that I wanted to film that looked great in my head, yet I couldn't bring them to life. There were particular scenes that I felt needed certain lighting, yet I could not accomplish that the way that I viewed it and the way that I wanted to. I wish my partner and I had more time to film because we were so busy during school or after school that we couldn't film as much as I wanted to and that I had planned to. My favorite part was absolutely filming and I wish I could film like this again in the future maybe in college. This project stood out to me. To overcome the fact that we couldn't film as much as we wanted, unfortunately we had to cut off some ideas. I hope if I do a project like this in the future, I won't have to cut out our ideas .

Working in a group was very fun since we both had ideas that we wanted to do, yet I felt that I was pulling most of the weight. My partner's family didn't really get along with our work schedule or my work schedule and so it was difficult. If I do a product like this again I would like to know my partner's schedule ahead of time so we can talk about it and have conversations about it, especially with that partner's family. to the production process, I felt that I did most of the work because most of the work is all in my computer. I finished the motion graphic, I finished the poster and I also finished the silent film and I finished editing it. The only thing that my partner and I did together was the film. I'm not mad about it, but I do wish that it was taken off of my shoulders at least.

believe I could've done more on this film. I would've loved to elongate it, but it is still short. I also wish I did more on the motion graphic because I didn't put a lot of effort into it. I was more focused on the filming and the credits.
