White Background

What's in a Name?

1. Firstly, I went to Photoshop and created my assignment with a transparent background. Secondly, I used to the text tool to enter my name into the assignment. After that, I searched for pictures on the internet that I felt described myself and my interests. I used clipping mask to attach the pictures onto my name and then moved onto the popouts. To do the pop outs, we had to duplicate our picture we wanted to pop, and then remove any excess parts of the picture (using magic wand tool, quick selection tool, and object selection tool) we did not want to be shown. Doing this was a little difficult but it was fun to see the outcome turn out how I wanted it to. Thirdly, I added a drop shadow with a red tint, red being my favorite color.

2.  Clipping masks is sort of like hiding the rest of a picture into another picture. It’s different from the eraser tool because you’re not actually erasing any of the picture, it’s just hidden beneath the mask – or the previous layer. Using this in other projects would be useful for adding pictures into titles of posters.

3.  Adding the pictures and clipping them was the easiest part of the project, however I did run into some roadblocks when it came to creating the pop outs. I had to fix it by reordering the layers correctly so that none of the layers would be blocked. To avoid this issue, next time I will remember order of operations.

4. I think I hit the criteria of 3-4 because I used 15 pictures and created 5 popouts. I don’t think I exceed expectations, but I did by best to hit every box that was asked of me.
