Composite Photography

1. Firstly, my partner and I had to take photos that were in the same lighting and the same position so that the camera could capture a background photo and two layer photos that go on top. For the second composite, I had one of my partners stand on a chair to help create the illusion of them floating when I took a second picture of just the background.  Then I used photoshop clipping masks to hide some parts (using the brush tool to conceal or reveal) of the picture to create the illusions of somebody floating and the illusion of invisibility. After that, I saved the two composite images as a JPEG and added it to my wix website.
2. Layer masks are used as a nondestructive tool that hides parts of an image that you want hidden. It differs from the eraser tool because the eraser destructs the image instead of concealing it. Using the eraser tool is more useful to get rid of an image part that you don't like, and using the layer masks tool is more helpful to keep parts of an image that you like, while concealing it. I could use it when I need to create the illusion of someone's arm being split or missing. You could use both the eraser tool and the layer mask tool to create that idea.
3. I believe I was successful in completing the project, but maybe I could've been more creative with the invisibility photo.  I had a bigger idea of how I wanted it to be, but realized it would've needed more time put into the project. I should've used to chair too on the invisibility photo if I wanted it to turn out how I liked.
4. My photos meet the rubric checklist, but does not exceed. I believe I could've added some other things to the floating photo, it looks pretty plain. Also the photo quality of the floating photo is not the best. I had a hard time getting the camera to focus during those photos, so it looks really out of focus. But for the invisibility composite, I used three photos instead of two. My partner and I took turns in front of the camera and behind to create the illusion that we were both in it and both hiding behing the pole. It looked cooler in my head sadly. Maybe I should've removed our legs.
