Conclusion Questions:
1. I made an art board and then messed around with the pen tool and the curvature tool to get the hang of it My robot is entirely made of shapes that I drew myself using the pen and curvature tool. The pen tool allows you to create shapes with and without curves. The curvature tool allows you to create shapes with anchor points, in which the shape will automatically curve itself. You can rearrange the anchor points to create your desired shape. The selection tool helped me to enlarge or shrink my shapes. Grouping the shapes was helpful to have multiple parts of the robot selected to move more than one shape at a time. Before this project, we used widgets on a practice page. The widgets are used to round the edge of a shape by using the selection tool to drag the notch inwards.
The shape builder tool is used to create simple shapes, and lastly the stroke and fill tool is used to fill shapes and color the outline of the shapes with a color of your choosing. After combining the use of these tools to create my own robot, I exported it as an PNG file directed to my desktop.
2. Vector graphics are in Adobe Illustrator, differing from Raster - which is used in Adobe Photoshop. Vector graphics are lines that are smoother because Adobe Illustrator doesn't use bitmaps (or pixels). Raster/Bitmaps/Pixels is used in Adobe Photoshop, this is noticeable when you zoom into a shape, the shape appears to be grainy and unclear. Vector graphics are extremely helpful when creating logos and digital illustrations because then this way, the logo wouldn't appear grainy if it were to be enlarged. Raster is better for editing photos, images, and graphics.
3. Similarities between Adobe Illustrator's vector graphics and Adobe Photoshop's raster graphics is that they're both helpful to create any digital art piece. The only main difference is that raster is more helpful when using complex color mixes with sharper edges, and vector is more preferred when using simple colors with clean edges.
4. I think I exceeded the expectations, deserving a 4. I created my robot completely from scratch, using zero reference images. At first this was pretty stressful, but once I understood how to navigate the new tools, I got it down.
